Postcards from Chi Omega!

Day 2 of Work Week has officially ended, which means everyone is hard at work preparing for Formal Recruitment and the beginning of this upcoming school year. In order to officially say goodbye to the summer season, check out some of the amazing adventures that some of our very own Chi O's had over these past three months!

Reigan Massey
Senior '14

Reigan studied abroad this past spring in Paris, France, and spent the beginning of her summer traveling across Europe. Among the many incredible things she did, she traveled to Santorini, Greece where she went cliff-diving, boated from the Amalfi Coast to Capri, and met up with some other Chi O's studying abroad in Rome!

Grace Nelson and Melanie Golden
Sophomore '16 and Junior '15

Grace and Melanie studied abroad through an engineering program in Piza, Italy for five weeks. In addition to taking classes, Grace, Mel, and their classmates visited various energy plants and spent the weekends traveling to Rome, Capri, Venice, Naples, Florence, and several other breathtaking cities throughout Italy!

Christine Troscinski
Sophomore '16

Christine traveled to Ecuador through an RSO called CRU, a Christian community for students at the University of Illinois. While in Ecuador, Christine was a fine representation of Chi Omega's commitment to philanthropy, as she helped conduct outreaches on college campuses, taught English classes, conducted bible studies, and interacted/served impoverished children.

Dina Betts
Sophomore '16

Dina spent the majority of her summer traveling to Russia to visit family. She stayed in Moscow and spent several weeks traveling to other cities across Southern Russia. She ended her amazing journey overseas with a trip to the country of Cameroon in Africa!

We are so proud of our actives who represented Chi Omega so well all across the world! Though we are saying goodbye to summer, we are thrilled to begin the recruitment process and welcome new baby 17s in just a few weeks!

Work Week Day 1

Here's a little peak inside to what we've been doing today on the first day of work week! We promise, it wasn't all fun and games...

Move in Day!

The countdowns have hit zero. The parents are on their way back to the burbs. The owls are in the nest. Move in day.

The line was out the door as 53 girls moved into the Chi Omega house today at noon. The halls were packed and the hugs were endless as sisters were reunited after a long summer apart.

The love we had for each other has only grown and today, we picked up right where we left off in May. Though our reunions over the summer were short and sweet, nothing compares to finally being united under the same roof.

We are babies no more as this house has officially become our home—a landmark in our hearts forever. In this past year, best friends have been made, lives have been shared and we’re pretty sure that we’ve already picked out our bridesmaids, crossing our fingers that there’s room for 45.

Tonight, as we lay in our new beds for the very first time, excited for the year to come, we have no idea what the future has in store for us as individual members and as a sorority all together.

And tomorrow, this place we wake up in is our new home. This will always be our home. Though we may not know it yet, 907 South Wright will hold a special place in our hearts forever.

The chaos is over, the meetings have been met, and only 53 Chi O’s and one amazing housemother are left. It is officially the end of Chi Omega Move in Day 2013 and as for the rest, it’s only the beginning.
